Marine Strip renews vinyl cushions, Bimini tops, shore line, and fenders quickly and easily. Removes petrochemical scum, grease, suntan lotion, and renews the surface prior to reconditioning with MarineSeal.
Quickly removes perma-teak, varnish, paint, and most other surface coatings such as urethane.
Will never raise the grain of wood, will not affect wood glue, will not harm fiberglass, never needs to be rinsed or neutralized. Marine Strip should not burn the skin but gloves are always helpful when using any cleaning agent. Will not eat through rubber gloves, and is non corrosive to metal. This product can be used around fiberglass, polyester resins, and Awl Grip safely.
Marine strip is environmentally friendly as there is no toxic waste when the coating is removed and dry. MarineStrip is completely gone.
Spray, brush, or soak the area to be worked until coating is loose. This process is instantaneous on vinyl and shore lines, so it should be applied to the applicator, not the item.
When removing paint or varnish, apply by soaking, spraying, or brushing. Keep coating to be removed wet until it can be easily removed.
Helpful Hint: For hard to strip areas ( painted, rounded, vertical, or carved surfaces, doweling, etc. ) use a cloth or sponge wet with Marine Strip to cover surface. Wrap with a plastic trash bag, or visqueen plastic. Tape edges to make airtight. Allow 2 1/2 hours, remove plastic and follow procedures outlined above. Or as an alternate method for rounds, or cracks, soak rope or twine in Marine Strip and work area in a back and forth shoeshine motion.
